MAC Studio finish concealer

I don't often buy concealers that come in little pots or are more of a cream consistency, but I thought I should give them another go and see if they are my thing and see how I feel about them. I decided when I was at a MAC stand that I wanted to try a foundation and a concealer and I thought this would be a good time to test this one out. I decided, being MAC, it should be a decent brand and be of good quality so I was excited to test it.

The MAC concealer comes in a box which is nice as it gives it the higher end feel the price tag mimics and keeps it looking nice and less likely to be tampered with. The concealer itself comes in a black plastic pot that mimics a single eye shadow. This is a nice secure pot with a little clip closure which I really like and it is really compact and small too which makes it great for travelling.

The concealer itself is a cream like formula that is quite firm in the pot so that you don't pick up too much product when you put your finger or a brush into the pan. I like the consistency and the way it feels, but for me I am not used to working with the cream style ones and so I find it slightly harder to work with that I do a liquid one in a lip gloss like packaging.

The product works well on the skin, and while I feel it needs to build it up slightly as you pick up a small amount of product initially it does give a nice amount of coverage and you can work to build it up on the skin. I find I prefer it on my spots and blemishes than under my eyes, but I think with a little bit of practice at different methods of applying this I could make it work should I want to, I just prefer my liquid ones under my eyes.

The product lasts really well on the skin and I like the finish and way it wears down through the day. While I have been reaching for this a lot over the past few weeks to test this out and see how I feel about it, and I know I will want to reach for it over the coming months, I don't think it will be a staple in my make up bag. I feel like the more I use this and get used to the texture and change to a cream the more I like it, yet I still have a love for the liquid concealer as I find it so much easier to use on a day to day basis and while I am rushing.

Overall, I am so glad I was able to get this concealer and test it out as I do like it, however, having tried it I wouldn't rush out to get it again immediately, and I wont be reaching for it all the time, but I do like it. I think if you prefer this type of cream concealer you will really like this product as it works well and gives nice coverage, I just think I prefer other things in my collection. At £16 it is quite pricey and it is one that I think I may not purchase again unless I have a change of heart about the formula in the future. This being said, I do like it enough to use it up and make the most of it while I have it in my collection and I will make a point of using it at least once a week when I do my make up to keep it circulated in my collection so I don't forget about it. If you do want to shop this you can find it online here, or pop to a MAC counter in order to be colour matched. I would love to know your favourite concealer and which ones you prefer as I am always looking for new products to try!
