Last years purchase this years staples!

Every year I feel there is pressure to do a big haul, buy lots of new winter things and share them all with you on the internet. I always get excited to do a winter haul but at the same time it is something that is a little daunting when you kinda love what you already own. Every year there are a few staples that I pull out and would haul all over again and repurchase once again as staples for the winter seasons. I thought it would be fun to show them to you all and share why each one has such a special place in my wardrobe.

When you find a coat you love, you just know, don't you? Well for me, I have really fallen for the coat I bought last year. At around £80 I always intended it to be a little more on the investment side and to be something I would wear year after year, but you never know at the buying stage how much of a staple it will actually be. I only buy faux fur, so while I wont wear real fur, this is fake fur and just thought I would address that. I went for a black coat which is smart looking and has little press stud buttons on the front which are concealed, and then the wait tie. I love the way this fits, the simplicity of it and how it matches everything, and not to mention it is so warm! There is a certain satisfaction to snuggling into the collar on a freezing day, and I always reach for it as it just so nice. I find this just goes with anything I wear and looks really dressed up if I want to be smart, but isn't too smart if I want to stay a little more casual.

The next thing I am loving is my Hunter wellies, I have been a welly hater for my entire life, until I invested in a pair of Hunter wellies on winter when I was commuting to uni in awful weather conditions and didn't want to spend the day with wet feet. If you have never tried Hunter wellies, I will go as far as saying, they are the comfiest shoes I own. They keep my feet dry, as you would imagine, with thick welly socks these keep my feet warm, and I genuinely think they are amazing. To really reinforce that, I have a black pair for daily wear, and a bright silver pair that I had for my winter wedding! I honestly would be lost without the when we have downpours, or when we get that weird slush-snow we get in England, and I think everyone needs a pair.

The last one is a scarf. The one second in from the left, the black and white one is an Alexander McQueen one I got from very Exclusive a year or two ago and it is honestly the best one I have ever bought. If you want to see it up close, you can find it in my scarf collection video, here, where I hold it up properly and show it fully. I have such a love for Alexander McQueen and I just think this scarf is so beyond beautiful that I can't even put it into words. It is honestly one of the best scarves I own.

I just wanted to share with you all some of the staples that I have in my collection that I am bringing forward to wear year after year, and it doesn't mean I don't have my eye on a new coat, or a few new scarves. It also certainly doesn't mean I wont be popping into town to look what other things I definitely don't need but will ultimately want and probably a few of those will slip into my basket and I will spend a few more pounds than I hoped. I want to share that we don't need to get caught up in getting the latest trend, the latest products when we have stuff we love and reach for anyway. I need to go through and sell a lot of the items I no longer wear and I will be updating my wardrobe with some of that money soon too, I have my eye on another handbag, but I don't know how wise that is right now! I'd love to know what things you are loving right now as I am always on the hunt for new staples or things I might be lacking in my wardrobe so feel free to comment and let me know if you think I am missing something!
