Discovering autumn winter trends with Intu Victoria Centre

When the lovely ladies over at Intu Victoria Centre emailed over and asked if I wanted to be part of their AW17 trend hunt event I was very excited! I love autumn and it is definitely something I am looking forward to updating my wardrobe for more in the future, so of course I popped along! The email spoke of makeovers, cocktails, a fashion challenge and prosecco and pudding I was ready and rearing to get there to see what the day would hold.

Meeting up at the John Lewis beauty haul I was very excited to have a browse of the make up counters and shop new products as well as have a make over and pamper as I haven't had much chance to pop to the beauty counters for a while. This meant it was a great to see what new products have launched so far, especially with the Christmas beauty launches looming. When we got there we were all assigned a beauty counter to go to for a make over and mine was Bobbi Brown. I was really excited as I haven't really tried any Bobbi Brown products but have always heard such amazing things about the make up that I know I should have done by now!

The lady was so helpful, I was talked through all the products as they were applied, shown what they all did and what result they gave and if they were multi purpose and lots of other hints and tips. I was asked what kind of make up I like and we decided on a medium coverage with a light eye look and bold lips. I was so pleased with how the make up turned out and I love the look I got! We worked around the bold lip I picked and I have added it to my Christmas list for a present idea! I have to say I look awful in this picture, but I wanted to show a progress one as I am silly and forgot to get one of the end result, which looked fab. In the picture I have the foundation and concealer on, as well as one brow to show the difference with the product and the lips done with creamy matte lip colour in crushed plum, a stunning shade and done I really want to add to my collection as I love those shades for autumn/winter. After the make over we were given a lovely goody bag full of lots of brands and products to try so I will do an 'unbagging' at some point, maybe over on my Instagram story or something if you do want to see what I got, as well as me reviewing all the products when I test them out.

Once we were pampered we headed over to Thaikhun, a lovely place which we have been to a few times and always have fun at, we settled down with a cocktail to find out all about the fashion trends challenge we were about to be set. Over a cocktail, which you can see above, and tasted delicious may I add, we discussed our make overs and talked about all the things we were hoping to get when we went off shopping. We then had a gift card with a trend given to us and I was happy to get one that said 'all that glitters' I wasn't sure what I wanted but I knew I wanted to chose wisely. Some of the other trends were 'red' 'millennial pink' 'boho chic' and 'precious metals'. I love the idea of these fashion challenges but do find them a little daunting at times. I could have bought a hundred sparkly and glittery dresses for going out in, but I know they would sit in my wardrobe gathering dust unworn as I don't have an event to go to that I know about to pick an outfit for. I decided, along with some of the other blogger girls to go down the sparkly make up route and bought a shimmer eye palette, a shimmer lip colour, a metallic lip shade and a shimmery highlight shade which I am very excited to try out.

Once we were all shopped out we headed to Cafe Rizolli for presecco and pudding which was lovely. We all had the choice of prosecco or a cocktail, so I went for a strawberry bellini which was lovely. For my pudding I chose the Strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake and really did enjoy it. We all shared the products and clothes we had bought with the gift card and were able to enjoy seeing everyone's interpretation of the style. I had so much fun at the event today and I honestly can't wait to share the thing I picked up with you all in an upcoming video! Let me know your favourite trend for this autumn winter as I love finding out what your all loving too!
