August round up

I can honestly say August has flown by in a whirlwind! I am very lucky to get August off work, but I can assure you I have spent almost everyday sat at my desk working hard on content for my little blog and my YouTube channel. I can assure you I have been busy with a guideline plan of all videos up until the end of the year being planned out and drafted ready to get ahead. I have also at this point wrote a considerable amount of content for September and worked on planning things out for October. I have been very busy! So what else has happened this month?

I have had quite a good month with blogger events, having been to the Derby bloggers brunch, meeting and networking with other bloggers and just generally having a lovely morning brunch. We arrived at the beautiful restaurant and the food was lovely. I had such a lovely time and its always nice to get to know some more local bloggers. If you want to see more of what I got up to you can find the vlog here if you want to see more of the day.

Another event I got to go to was one at a place called CaBella in Nottingham. This is a cute independent make up shop that stocks make up, brushes and offers tutorials and masterclasses which is amazing. I had so much fun and we got to have a masterclass showing the pigments and seeing some of their top tips and tricks. I did vlog it which you can see here if you want to see more, but I did decided not to spill all the hints and tips as I wanted to save some for you to find out yourselves at a masterclass which I recommend going to.

When the lovely ladies at Intu got in touch and asked if I wanted to pop along to a cooking masterclass at Thaikhun I admit I was apprehensive. I like cooking and I would say I am a decent cook, but I have also never cooked Thai food before, so I had no basis of my Thai cooking skills. I arrived not knowing if we would watch food being cooked that kind of masterclass or if we would be cooking ourselves. We did indeed end up cooking ourselves and I have to say it is the best event I have been to. I don't want to brag but my red curry was so delicious that I spent the whole week following cooking it wanting to eat it again, and I will be making do with a supermarket red curry until I can eat a proper one again. If you want to see my efforts in cooking and the event roundup you can find it here. I had so much fun and it definitely made me want to cook more from scratch.

The final event I got to go to was one with The Body Shop. I was invited along to The Body Shop to see their new products that have launched, there is some lovely products in store and it was so nice to see the face masks, especially the new matcha green tea one I have been looking at and seeing a lot online. We got to have a sneak preview of the range for autumn launching on the 15th September and so I am very excited about that! I said in my video so I'll say it here, think autumn, Halloween, pumpkins.... Its is a little montage type video as I have such bad sunburn I was in a lot of pain when I went to the event but if you want to see the vlog you can find it here.

August has been pretty quiet, I am lucky I get the month off, and so I have spent the month treating my blog and YouTube as a full time job, pretending I live that life to see how I would feel if it ever could be and I have to say it was definitely amazing! I have been able to plan so much content, get so much done and really work hard at it to see where I want to improve and what I want to do in the coming months with my channel and blog.

Towards the end of the month I decided I would like a new desk. Not a big job, just get rid of the old and pop a new one in its place. Well, it would be easy, but I then decided to paint some furniture. When buying paint I found new wallpaper I liked and then it escalated and the whole room seems to now be getting a make over, and let me tell you my stress levels have gone through the roof as everything seems to be going wrong with it all! It slowly coming into place but between out of stock furniture, the stress of moving everything to paint and gloss, and just the hassle of the huge job I hadn't originally anticipated I just wish it could all be done by now! I am so excited to share with you the finished product and I will be doing an office tour when it is complete, but for now I have no idea when that will be as I still don't have my desk!

I would love to know what you have been up to this month, so do let me know in the comments, or if you have something fun planned for September that you are looking forward to I would love to hear about that too! Hope you enjoyed August. I am excited for all the autumnal weather, as well as the approaching festivities of Christmas but who know what we will get up to.

  1. Sounds like you've had a very busy August and it's been so nice to see you at all of the events. I hope you manage to get your desk finished to your satisfaction and can't wait to see the finished result.
