The Sunday night destress

This week has been a really stressful week, I have felt run down, worn out and just overwhelmed with stress. I wont bore you with the details, but it may rear its head again so we will skip over it for now, I'm sure I will be talking about it one twitter later down the line. I decided I wanted to start next week with a clean slate and really have a good destress on a Sunday evening to bring me back to being relaxed and happy for the new start of a fresh week on Monday.

I am going to start out by running myself a nice hot bubble bath, I am going to use some of a lush bubble bar I have left over from the valentines collection, I love sinking myself into a nice hot bubble bath and forgetting all my worries. I love bubbles more than bath bombs when I am feeling sorry for myself as they feel so indulgent and I love the way they sit on the water the just feel calming and cloud like.

I then like to pick out some nice products to wash with, the lady bird bubble bar I am using is quite sweet, so I have gone for the body shop strawberry body wash a lovely one that really does smell fruity, slightly on the sweeter side and a really nice pick me up that reminds me of summer. I paired that up with the Rituals rice milk and cherry blossom moisturiser that I got in my look fantastic advent calendar, as soon as I tried this it became a firm favourite and one that I truly do love!

For a face mask I am going to use the body shop vitamin E moisture mask, it is one I have had on my shelf a while and I need to use it up, but I wanted something moisturising to give my skin a boost and really make it look hydrated and renewed for the week ahead. I cleanse my skin and give it a scrub to allow it to be clear and ready to have the moisture sunk into the skin.

For my hair, I wanted to give it some nourishment, I have had a really lazy weekend and although I did shower, my hair was neglected, cue dry shampoo and looking a bit gross by Sunday afternoon. although only washed near the end of the working week, I decided to use the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment shampoo, treatment and spray. I am trying desperately to grow my hair and between regular trims, and the possibility of having a restyle and fringe cut in, I am using this to promote it to grow, a review will be coming soon on this!

I am going to light a candle, I am going to use a snowflake cookie sampler from Yankee candle in a little jar to scent the room and make it indulgent and relaxing. I love lighting candles and just relaxing with the lights dimmed and the flickering flame casting light into the room. I also have lots of candles to use up from over Christmas so I am glad to be using some of them.

Once I got out the bath I wrapped myself up in my nice comfy pyjamas, I have gone for these cute button up pyjamas, they were from Asda just before christmas and were my wedding morning pyjamas that I wore, they are so soft and comfy and remind me of my wedding day!

I am them going to cuddle up in bed and head off to sleep ready for the week ahead! How do you liek to destress after a long week?

  1. A good pamper on a Sunday is a weekly tradition of mine too. You've got some fab products here (love love love the body shops Vitamin E range - think they get overlooked so often) and your pjs are super cute 💕

  2. Those PJs look so warm and cosy! I always plan to chill out and pamper on a Sunday evening but I always end up writing as many blog posts as I can for the week! I love the Lee Stafford hair growth range, my hair was at a standstill and wasn't growing and it's grown loads in the past year, and I have lots of new growth coming from the scalp too with baby hairs coming though xx
