Lee Stafford coco loco mouse

Mouse is a product I tend to steer away from, The only time I have ever used it in the past it always seemed to go a little crunchy and leave my hair feeling like I just wanted to wash it straight away. I received this as part of the goody bag Lee Stafford ran at the clothes show and decided as I already owned it, it would be silly not to give it a go. I know hair products have come a long way in the 10ish years since I last used mouse, so I had high hopes, especially as I love the Less Stafford products I have trued in the past.

The can is a lovely pale shade that has pink writing on to keep it in with the pink theme of the Lee Stafford brand while allowing the coconut range to have its own aesthetic of the pale packaging. Underneath the writing there is a lovely picture of some coconuts to give a nice illustration of the key scent of the products. The packaging is sleek and looks nice, it is also easy to store within my beauty products.

The product has a aerosol style spray function that allows you to control the amount of product which comes out of the can, to give you a controlled amount of product to work with. I find it easy to get a little bit or a lot and you can easily control how much you need. I use a nice heap in the centre of my palm to cover my roots, as I have fairly thin hair so I try to be aware of how much I use, I don't want to over use the product.

The key features of the product are said to be that it; gives body, gives volume, non crispy, non sticky, no stiffness and has a great coconut scent. I use this in my root section as advised by the product instructions, and I do agree it gives the hair body and volume, it stops my roots looking flat and lifeless and definitely boosts them really well. While my hair is non sticky, and doesn't feel crispy or stiff, I can feel that my hair feels thicker and while it isn't a bad thing I can notice a trace of the product in my hair, more so by the way it lifts and holds some of the volume when I ruffle my hands in my hair and push my roots up to give added volume and boost through the day.

The product has a lovely coconut scent that you can smell as soon as you dispense it from the can, and once applied through the hair and dried, the scent lingers throughout the day making it a really nice scent to keep getting the scent of as you are going about your day. I like the way the scent lingers, and it can double up as keeping you smelling nice if your perfume or body spray fades off a little through the day.

The mouse makes my hair feel voluminous and fuller bodied, it really gives my hair a noticeable boost and makes it look effortless, but thick and healthy looking. At £5.99 for 200ml on Boots, here, I definitely think it is an affordable, and easy to get hold of product. I will definitely be using this a lot and I will add this to my list of hair products I will repurchase as it is realy great and genuinely outdid my expectations!

  1. I haven't used mousse In a very long time - it brings back big flashbacks of the crispy curls that people used to use but the coco loco range looks great! I've seen it in store but have such a stash already 🙈 Xx

    1. I agree, that awful crispy hair was a nightmare! I was scared of reliving that! But I took the risk and this is definitely one that is great for volume and body without any of those nasty residue nightmares! haha! I definitely want to try more from the coco loco range too it smells great! x

  2. Anything with a coconut scent instantly has me sold, and this product sounds great. I don't particularly need volume or thickness to my hair (its a big old hot mess most of the time because I have too much of this naturally) but for some reason I still want to buy it!

    1. Aww, I think they have a huge range in the coco loco scent, so maybe a hair mask or hairspray from the range might be nice! x

  4. I used to have mousse all the time when I was younger to tame my curly hair but it always felt too crispy! This sounds like it's a great product but probably not one for me as I have volume by the bucket loads!!!! Xxx
