MDM Flow lipstick Vamp

MDM flow is a brand that I had never heard of until I got a glossy box for a few months and for the December box there was a choice of whether you wanted a neutral nude lip or a deep lip, being offered the option to have the 'sugar' or 'spice' themed box. I opted for spice, the more red toned box as neutral shades don;t always look the way I hope on my skin and so I knew the redder shade would get a lot more use in my collection, and I am being so good at choosing braver lip colours so I want more darker colours in my collection.

The lipstick is in a beautiful gold packaging that looks almost rose gold, and it is so lovely. It is quite small and compact and so is easy to take with you and wont take up much space. The lipstick has a really sturdy lid that has a substantial 'click' noise when you push the lid on in order to secure the lid on while it is stored.

The colour is described as a deep plum with a demi matte finish. I would have described it as a deep raspberry/cherry shade, but I think now I have looked up the real colour of the lipstick their description is very fitting. The colour has a deep pink looking base with a purple tone to it making it look so beautiful. The finish of the lipstick is a demi matte finish, it has all the elements of a matte lip, but with a slight cream like finish that is completely comfortable and doesn't dry out the lips or feel dry on the lips.

The lipstick applied really easily, and gave really good coverage on the lips, I did go back over the colour a little bit to neaten up my application and make sure it looked flawless. I wore this lipstick for 3 and a half hours and it still looked completely perfect when I went for lunch. Between eating and using the napkin my lipstick needed touching up, but to be fair, I did wipe off whatever lipstick was left on my lips when I was making sure I didn't have pizza lurking on my face. I reapplied my lip colour and the lip colour lasted at least 5 hours until I was home and subsequently forgot to check on the wear of it. The lip colour is so comfortable you honestly forget it is on your lips. Even the bit of wear I noticed through the day was so even and subtle that it still looked freshly applied and I didn't feel I needed to top it up.

At £18. I would have thought that sounded a little steep for a lipstick, but after wearing it and seeing how long it lasts and how comfortable it wears I m completely sold on these and will have a browse around at what other colours they sell that might catch my eye. I am so happy with the colour and it is definitely one I will reach for a lot when I want a deep lip colour, which I am reaching for more and more recently!

  1. I keep hearing about these and thinking they look lovely! The only thing is I hate the brand name! To me it sounds like a monthly women's product haha! Bet this colour looks gorgeous on you though! xxx Molly - www.therosebeautyfiles.com

    1. Haha I do agree they are a bit odd sounding lol! I can't believe how much I like these, as they aren't a brand I would have gravitated towards!

  2. Never actually tried MDM but they look lovely. Sort of middle of the price range and it sounds like a really good product for the money. You basically described my perfect Autumn colour too, I bet it looks ace on you.

    1. I totally agree, if it hadn't come in my £10 glossy box I don't think I would have been convinced to splurge on it, and while it is good, I would only pick up colours that were really special or different from the brand as I love a good budget bargain and save my splurge items for really special products!

    1. I hadn't either until I received it, It looks great and one that is so nice for autumn winter, I'm a little sad it will go in my make up drawer a little neglected over summer when I turn to brighter shades x
