Caffe Rizolli prosecco bar and House of Fraser make overs!

Today I got to attend a wonderful blogger event at Intu Victoria center in Nottingham in conjunction with the newly opened prosecco bar, Caffe Rizzoli. The last time I was in Nottingham city centre this was still under construction, but that was before Christmas so this was my first glimpse at the establishment and I was most excited to try it out. I first want to say this event was made possible by the lovely team at Intu Victoria, the ladies who were at the event with us and running it are so lovely and easy to get along with, they definitely know how to make you feel welcome and appreciated, and I greatly appreciate them too. Not only this, but the founder of Caffe Rizzoli, Jeremy was on hand when we arrived to greet us all individually, and introduce himself as well as make sure we were all comfortable and happy with the service. You can see immediately the passion Jeremy has for his business and how pleasant and welcoming he is, this makes a world of difference as it made me feel welcome and valued as soon as I arrived.

As you can see from the picture the prosecco bar is located in the central part of the walkway, it is stationed just outside the Disney store and Claire's and is really easy to find, especially if you come in from the bus station end. Although the bar is in the center and away from the food court, you do not feel like you are being watched and you forget it is more open than you may expect as the surroundings of the cafe are the black and white walls with the glass edging on top, great for just peaking out into the center without feeling like you are on display to the people walking past as you have brunch or a quick prosecco stop!

Immediately as we arrived we walked around the side to meet the team and say that we were here, but I couldn't help myself, I had to stop and have a quick look at the cakes! How nice do these look? When I get to the brunch you will see the one I went for, but I can assure you the whole table of food and deserts made me want to try everything on the menu! I love the idea of stopping here for a cup of tea (or coffee) and a slice of cake, a great little pit stop when you are shopping and a nice little pick me up.

As we were sitting down and Jeremy had introduced himself we were offered a drink, I went for a strawberry bellini, despite being only 11am, it would have been rude not to, right?! The menu is simple, clean looking and so easy to understand. The food is split into categories such as breakfast, sandwiches, sides, drinks etc, which makes it so easy to look through and decide what you would like, It is all priced in a way that is easy to understand and see and I love the menu's simplicity.

We had gone for brunch, which meant I was torn, did I go for more of a breakfast food or should I have gone for a sandwich and felt like I was having lunch. Either way, scrambled eggs on toast with bacon won me over and sounded delicious. When it arrived I was not disappointed. the toast looked a lovely golden colour, the eggs were neatly presented on the bread and there was a really good amount of bacon on the top, definitely a very appetising meal, and a well picked choice. Accompanying the toast was a small pot of what looked like home made tomato sauce and a mini side salad. I am not always a lover of tomato sauce so I didn't really go for the sauce, but the food was really really enjoyable. I will definitely be back to have brunch here with some of my friends or my mum when we have a girly shopping day!

After spotting the desert cabinet on the way in, and then the offer arising for there to be the option of desert, I knew it was only fair to sample the savoury and the sweet to report back my full findings.  Ok, ok, I just wanted desert and the blog post was a perfect excuse. (Just don't tell my personal trainer!) The raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake sounded like the perfect and only reasonable way to go. I love cheesecake and the raspberry sauce and white chocolate really did sound like a dream combination. I opted for cream as I don't enjoy ice cream much, but I hear from the other blogger girls that the ice cream is also amazing. The cheesecake was set on a biscuit base that wasn't too dense or heavy feeling, it gave the cheesecake filling a sturdy but still light base to rest on. The cheesecake filling itself was light with a rich flavour that I can say is one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had! A place I can envision myself visiting when I am in Nottingham again.

The Wonderful ladies running the event then told us they had a little gift for us, the girls with iPhones all got a phone case, while the bloggers without, me included, were gifted this beautiful, and stunningly glittery purse from Skinny dip. Such a stunning piece that is neutral in colour so will be prefect for anyone taste and definitely a piece I would have picked out myself. They then handed round some Skinny dip plush stickers that you can use to monogram items, Such a cute touch and although I don't yet know where I will stick them, they will be well loved when I find the perfect place!
We were then taken over to House of Fraser for make overs and a look around the beauty counters, We were greeted by another glass of prosecco, and made to feel like true VIP's which was wonderful. I had originally asked to have a make over on Bobbi Brown but it was a highly requested one for make overs and so I decided I would head over to Urban Decay and ask them to use the Naked ultimate basics on me to see how I feel about it now I have it on my radar to purchase. The make over was lovely, the lady on the counter, I'm sure she was called Ashlea? was so friendly and kind she made me feel totally at ease when having the make over done. She used the products from the palette I had requested and added a lip colour she thought would suit my tastes and my complexion after asking what shades I tend to wear. The shade was Backtalk, a mauve-nude pink that looked so stunning on my complexion and one that I knew I needed every time I went on to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I've made a note of the name and I think I will be back very soon for it!
Getting to explore the other counters, I couldn't not take a photo of this, the YSL touche eclat in their limited edition 25 year anniversary packaging. Can we actually just talk about how pretty this is. The stars printed on the packaging give the actual pen shaped product character and definition to show it is the limited edition version of the product and is just the dream, and with all those star shaped sequins, well, imagine the fun you could have sprinkling that everywhere!

The lady on the Clarins counter was so lovely and was great to speak to and talk about different parts of beauty and skincare. The lady spoke to us all about our individual needs and what we look for in skincare and recommended us all some products she thought we would like to try. I explained that my main concerns are dark circles and a sore, dry patch of skin I get on my right cheek from time to time. Not only did she talk through the products she was recommending, but also gave us a mini goody bag to allow us to try the products out and see how we get on.

In my personalised gift I was given, the multi active night cream, two sachets of the Clarins double serum, the Santal face treatment oil for dry skin, and the booster energy, this is designed to target fatigue and revive radiance in the skin so I am really excited to try this out. All of these products sound like they are just what my skin needs, so I will be reporting back when I have used them and know how I feel about them.

At the end of the event the lovely lady who works for House of Fraser, can you tell how bad I am at names, gifted us a little goody bag, which from the look of it, each one was different with different samples in. In my goody bag I received a sample of the Bobbi Brown illuminating moisture balm, the Clarins anti pollution cleansing milk, Urban Decay perversion mascara, Cartier Baiser vole perfume, Clarins beauty flash balm.and the Clarins gentle foaming cleanser. These are all such lovely samples and I know I will enjoy using and testing all of them in order to find what works for me and my skin. I also think I will be back once I have tried these in  order to get them full size as they sound like things I am going to love, but I will review and update you on all of these as I use them!

Once again I would love to say a massive thank you to the ladies who run the Intu Victoria events, Jeremy and the staff at Caffe Rizzoli, and the lovely ladies on the House of Fraser counters, the day was an absolute pleasure to experience and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it and have enjoyed myself a lot.
