My advent calendar round up

This year I had three advent calendars, now that may sound a little greedy, but I bought two myself and one was kindly bought by m,y husband for me. I knew, with us not making a big deal of Christmas and deciding not to have too many presents with the wedding and honeymoon being very close to Christmas I said I wanted to get a nice advent calendar as it was like a present to myself. I chose the Look fantastic one as I know for the price it was going to be amazing and then when I saw the spoiler post (I did want to know what I was spending my money on before I spent £70) I knew I had to get one. As soon as it launched I ordered one and managed to get one, as it did sell out reasonably fast.  My husband also got me the Tanya Burr advent that has 12 days, I had this last year and its so cute, so he got me that when it was on offer.  I originally had 2 but then when I saw the Yankee advent calendar on offer for £13 I knew I had to grab it as it is a bargain!

First up I will talk about the Look fantastic advent calendar as its probably the one your here to see! This is by far the best thing I have ever bought!! There is a beautiful range of products in the advent calendar and I was pleased with all of them. Most of the products were ones I hadn't tried and this is what swayed me to go ahead and buy this one as I love trying new products. Lets start with beauty and make up as that is a very exciting category, these aren't in order of the days they came on but just the order I went through once it was fully opened.  first we have the Look good feel better eye shading brush, I cannot wait to try this as I love trying new brushes so I will report back on this one once I try it. The Inika loose mineral blush in blooming nude, is a lovely neutral brown shade blush that will look lovely on days where you want a bit of colour but don't want to go too rosy and I don't have many this type of colour. The Purminerals impact+ mascara looks really nice, a good size sample and one that I can take on honeymoon with me soon. Although I haven't looked at the brush on this it does sound promising! There is also a bellapiere gel eyeliner in ebony, I love that it is black, it means most people who get the advent calendar will wear it over a colourful shade, I love eyeliner so I am excited to try this out too. Being party season you can get away with false lashes even more, so seeing the Ardell wispies lashes was a real bonus as I always forget to buy lashes as I hardly ever wear them! I am also really excited to try the monuskin BB cream illuminating primer, I love that it says illuminating, I cant wait to use it under some of my less dewy foundations to see how it turns out. A versatile multi use product from nudestix, the lip and cheek pencil in mystic is a perfect item for travel as you can do a lip colour and cheek colour all in one, but I am intrigued to see how it works for both lips and cheeks. Finally for beauty we have the Illamasqua eye shadow quad exclusive to the calendar it is beautiful nude shades to create an everyday look with that could be smoked out or made darker with the darker brown. A perfect size and beautiful everyday shades, this is what swung me to buy the calendar in the first place!

As well as a lot of beauty, there is also a lot of skin care in the calendar. We first have 2 masks, the Christophe robin regenerating mask and the Codage micro peeling mask, I like that these two are different in the way they apply and what they are like as you get to explore different mask types, they are also two brands I have never tried. Moving onto cleansing and washing products for the face, there were three doors with these in, we have the Ole Henrickson clean truth cleansing cloths, perfect to take on honeymoon to freshen up or take my make up off for swimming or freshen up after being in the pool. Dermalogica daily microfoliant, I have used this before and it is quite an interesting concept, a powder you mix with water to make a paste and then wash with. Last for washing I have the Foreo night cleanser and foreo luna play, I love that this came with the luna play, I cant wait to try it it looks so different and interesting. I got one toning product which I was so excited to finally get my hands on, the Pixi glow tonic is highly raved about so I am really looking forward to testing it out on my skin and seeing what benefits I find it having. Lastly for skin care, we have three cream based products, Balance me wonder eye cream, perfect timing as I have recently run out of eye cream, REN revitalising night cream, again a perfect sample size to take away with me, and finally Origins GinZing energy boosting moisturiser another product I have heard lots of good things about so will be testing and letting you know how I get on.

We then have hair, the Redken one united treatment, this can be left in or washed out which is great as it give you the options, and you can see which you get better results from. We then have the Moroccan oil treatment, I love hair oils and cant wait to try this one. My hair isn't as damaged as it once was but the Ojon damage reverse will come in handy to help treat my hair in the ares it is still lacking a bit of TLC. Finally we have the Wella oil reflections shampoo again, a lovely product and I cant wait to test out the benefits of it.

Lastly in the calendar I have narrowed it to body care and one misc product, first up is the Rituals magic touch body cream this is a lovely big size, 70ml, and will be great to try out, and it smells amazing! We then have the Molton brown pink peppered body wash I might take this away with me to because it is a travel sized bottle, I have to admit the name doesn't sound too appealing but when i did smell it it is pepper like but surprisingly nice! The Nuxe multi purpose dry oil is a new type of product for me, I don't tend to use a lot of oils but this one having shimmer in makes it look so lovely, and I cant wait to see how it looks on the skin!  Lastly we have the This works pillow spray, not a product I think will be for me, as I am sure it will be lavender scented and lavender gives me a headache, so I will pass this on to someone who will use it, but for it to be the only product I am unsure on I think the calendar was amazing! I definitely think I will have next years on my wishlist!

The Tanya Burr advent calendar has 12 items in it and all 12 have a really beautiful surprise in them. The advent calendar has a mirror and a nail file in two of the doors but I really like that it is so handy to have a mirror and nail file and I will pop them in one of my handbags for one of those emergency touch ups or broken nails that sneaks in when you are off guard. We then have two lip glosses, a pinkish shade (candy cane), a red (berry pavlova) and a matte lip in a red shade (Christmas stocking). I then have two shimmer pots, a white with a blue duo chrome (Snow day), and a gold shimmer (champagne sparkle). I then have two glitter liners, a gold (treasured) and a silver (ice crystals). Last but not least, I got three nail polishes, A gold glitter (Glitters and gold), a red glitter (Sleigh bells) and a silver glitter you may have seen on my Instagram yesterday (glitter rain). I loved this advent calendar, I chose to open a door every other day  to make the 12 last until Christmas and I really enjoyed it, other than that I would have done that last 12 days before Christmas as a count down to Christmas day, but it is versatile to what you want to do.

The Yankee candle advent calendar has 24 days and has all tealights except one votive. The scents in the advent calendar are a nice mix of sweet, spicy and piney so it is perfect to try lots of different Christmas scents. I do realise this was last years one that had been stored over the year and that is why it was cheaper but I don't mind that is was cheaper as I love all the scents and was a bargain. In the calendar I got 4 Christmas memories tea lights, 4 angels wings tea lights, 4 cinnamon sticks tea lights, 3 icicles tea lights, 4 Christmas garland tea lights and 4 snow flake cookie tea lights. In place of the fourth icicles tea light you get a Christmas eve votive on day 24 to burn to mark it being Christmas eve and the countdown to Christmas day. I haven't burnt the tealight each day like I intended as I have a big jar of the Christmas eve scent and have burnt that everyday that I have had a candle burning so January will see me burn all of these festive tea lights!
