Kat Von D London calling set

When Kat Von D make up launched in the UK I was so excited, but also spoilt for choice. I have heard such good things about the foundation that I wanted to try it out, however, I live no where near a counter and so that is something I will come back to later when I can be colour matched to know I will get the right shade. I opted for this kit as it gave me a couple of different options to try to see what things I might go on to buy in the future based on these. In this kit you get 3 minis, a studded  kiss lipstick in Lolita, everlasting liquid lipstick in Double dare and a tattoo liner in trooper.

The tattoo liner was one I was most excited to try, along with the liquid lipstick as I had heard the most about them and I was glad they are neutral brown shades of lipstick that I can get a lot of wear out and use regularly. I have been quite scared to use these kind of colour before as I thought this kind of brown would be less flattering on my skin tone but these are lovely and have helped me to branch out and try new things.

The liner is a mini size but is still a really nice size to hold and use without feeling like you have got a product that is too small to use, I have encountered this problem before in other brands. I do like felt tip liners, but I wouldn't have said they were my top choice, until now. I have used ones that are quite watery or not very pigmented in the past but this one is a true black and looks so good on the eye and a standout product. It is also a fine tip that makes it so easy to do a winged liner. I am incredibly bad at doing a winged liner look and have been able to master it almost every time, at least from the second try when using this. Although I always count the first use as a complete test run as all products perform differently and you have to see which way of applying is best for that product in particular.

The everlasting liquid lipstick is in the shade 'Double dare' and is described as a cocoa blush colour. It is a really nice creamy formula that is very opaque and is the colour you see in the tube which is great as it comes out true to colour and looking as you want it to. It applies smoothly to the lips with ease and looks opaque in one swipe. The doe foot applicator makes it really easy to apply and the formula is comfortable on the lips and glides on easily. I find this does dry down on the lips to give the matte finish, but it isn;t too drying on my lips which tend to stay hydrated if I have been applying lipbalm when I do my skincare routine. I love the formula and lasting power of these, and they are definitely on my wishlist in more colours.

The studded lipstick in Lolita is described as a matte dusty rose shade. It is again, easy to applies, opaque and easy to apply. The lisptick is a soft creamy texture that is smooth to apply to the lips but has a matte finish. This also isn;t too drying for my lips, but as said above, I try to keep them hydrated regularly regardless. The lipstick also has really good staying power. I tend to find the downfall with lip products for me is when I eat, I am not sure if I do something that other people don't, but its rare a lipstick or lip product lasts while I eat, but this does hold up well, and certainly better than some others I have tried.

I am so impressed with all three of these products, as I knew I would be. It has paved the way for what can only become an addiction to collecting Kat Von D make up, as I already have a list as long as my arm that I want to try out and other colours I want to get in the lip products as well as the eye shadow pallets and foundation and face products! For £19.50 if you can still get hold of this kit I really do recommend it!
